Spark creativity through storytelling with this newest youth program at the Y!
Books and Crafts is a culmination of two creative things: literature and artwork. The goal of this program is to introduce a way for participants to guide their imagination into pieces of art while learning about authors and art styles. For example, reading the book "The Hungry Caterpillar", we would explore how Eric Carle made his pictures with textures and papers, rather than markers or paint. Afterward, participants would create a piece of artwork using similar techniques/styles.
